for their seventh issue, adams bite have tapped italian dj and producer, christopher ledger. his work has steadily risen to the top over the past five or six years, honing in on a reduced style favoured by intimate dancefloors throughout europe. for his most recent output, ledger draws upon more muscular, more urgent matter altogether. his encyclopedic knowledge of dance musics hidden corners reverberates strongly within these five tracks. find echoes of the fledgling roman rave scene in its heavy drumwork, whilst the trance-infused synths recall the hazy glory days of mid-nineties elba. all touched up and bound together by a thoroughly modern approach to sound design and floor awareness. ledger carries his italian heritage on his sleeve, and although many of the calling cards might appear obscured to the uninitiated, those familiar with his craft will find more to love with every rotation. pass this gate and discover the depth at your own risk.

chris schwarzwalder strikes again for denature records, this time with a 5 tracks ep: catjammer. the track of the same name as well as -slow down- produced with feathered sun lead singer jo.ke have this unique slow and melancholic groove. on the other side setup and the list will take you to darker and hypnotic places. the ep ends with leaves which sounds like an invitation to an endless ballad into the sunset.

2018 repress in black double hole sleeve! after their joyful meeting back in the cloverleaf days, smallville buddies jacques bon and christopher rau are finally back as a team to present two jams of rough-but-sweet house music. jacques is running the paris-dependance of smallville in france, though living in hamburg since a while. he recently released on berlin-based label aim. christopher rau, well-known in the world of house after records on pampa, ethereal sounds, dérive and of course smallville- just to name a few. together as bon & rau, they travel along the blurry side of the moon.

fresh from the success of their ‘past / present / future’ release, we march on, with berlin-based italian christopher ledger the man responsible for their label’s 41st release. the ‘percezione and retrospettiva’ ep sees ledger in flying form, as he props up with two dexterous, thoughtfully executed records that speak volume of his ability to craft atmospheric sounds. opening up the release is the sounds of ‘retrospettiva 2’, a future leaning techno jam that again wonderfully fits the brouqade aesthetic. clearly indebted to sci-fi spheres, this one is very much cut from a detroit cloth, with a steely finesse that lurks from the get go. a track that brings the listener on an endless journey, it comes some deep harmonic vibes. all things told, this is an ep of various contrasting sounds, ledger’s debut for brouqade is a stunning example of what can happen when producers think outside the box. the b side consists of ‘percezione attiva’. harmonic, blissful tones abound throughout, made all the more meaningful by a slew of gentle, melancholic piano chords that really pull on the heartstrings. a light and hazy experimental piece, the track forces parallels with other masters of suspense. culminating with a more traditional 4/4 vibe, this unusual turn only enhances the producer’s standing as a man willing to take risks.

nice price deal !!! titanium is back with a brandnew release! titan103 is a great ep from austrians producer christopher groove who has his first solo release on philipp straubs label titanium. this ep already had a great impact on the market as felix da housecat licenced maximal mnml for his recent global underground compilation milan which was a great success wordwide. maximal mnml is a deep techno tune with soft percussions and a great bassline that makes everybody move. the second track b.o.w. is a real techno bomb with a huge break and succeeded on many dancefloors around the globe, not only due to heavy support from carl cox. to complete the ep philipp straub asked his friend danilo vigorito for a remix and danilo delivered one of his rare and beloved tunes. danilo, who is one of the main protegees of italian techno, formed maximal mnml into a little bit darker structure with a unique atmosphere. all in all a great ep!
